Annie and the Hedonists Brunch & Concert at the Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts

  • Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts (map)

Have a delicious brunch in our Grand Gallery while enjoying the incredible sounds of Annie and the Hedonists. The band features Annie Rosen on lead vocals; Jonny Rosen on guitar and vocals; Peter Davis on clarinet, tenor guitar, piano and vocals; and Don Young on bass and vocals. The brunch menu will include quiche, stuffed French toast, bacon, sausage, potatoes, salad greens, refreshments and desserts.

Annie is a captivating singer. She delivers a lyric like it was a cherished bedtime story – as comfortable as your favorite sweater, as truthful as … well, I can’t think of anything that honest. Her bandmates, Peter Davis (guitar, banjo, clarinet, piano, vocals), Jonny Rosen (guitar, vocals) and Don Young (bass, guitar, vocals), are first and foremost accomplished, serious musicians. More importantly, they each have an innate yet individual sense of child-like wonder, which is evident on every track, becoming more intoxicating upon multiple listenings (I suggest 1,000 or more). – Joel Moss, Producer, Managra Music

Drew & Crew Comedy Show | Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts

Drew Jacobs has performed his comedy and music in clubs and festivals across the country. His award-winning songs have been heard on satellite and terrestrial radio since the ‘80s.

Jerry Dymond has been performing standup in the Capital District and New York for years. He is everyman, and everyman is he.

Mikael Gregg started his career in standup in Houston, Texas, in the ‘80s and has worked with Kevin James, Rodney Dangerfield and Bill Hicks, to name just a few. Mikael is also a doctor, so his views on health, family and people in general will keep you in stitches.

Ed Smyth is a unique and effervescent comic who serves up a silly string of brain-twisty topics as diverse as single-cell balloon animals, warped French history, Wally the Happy Talking Neutrino, confused sock puppets, Led Zeppelin on kazoo and the prehistoric “Dawn of Standup Comedy.”

Steve Rinaldi appears regularly at The Funny Bone in Albany and has performed at The Laugh Factory and Zanies in Chicago, as well as in comedy clubs in his native Philadelphia.

Elemental Narratives: Opening Reception Public · Hosted by Daisy Rockwell and Saratoga Arts

March 30 - Mary 5, 2018
Opening Reception: Saturday, April 7 | 6-8pm

All are invited to the opening reception of Elemental Narratives, featuring the artwork of Diane Fine, Daisy Rockwell & Oliver Schemm.

Join us to see the show, meet the artists, and enjoy craft beer and light refreshments from Druthers Brewing Company.

Each artist in Elemental Narratives aims to portray moments and events that are important to them; moments that are essential, or have had a profound impact on them. Their artwork is bound by their shared desire to tell the stories of those moments.
Using the narrative of history, memory and time, Oliver Schemm unites perceived function with absurdity, mixing time periods and cultural traditions in his work. Daisy Rockwell’s paintings depict moments of both war torn Aleppo and her mother’s terminal illness, while Diane Fine attempts to tell the story of an ageless conversation in a non-verbal way.

Questions? Call Saratoga Arts at 518.584.4132, or email Emma Huneck, Exhibitions Director at ehuneck@saratoga-arts.org.

This exhibit focuses on the immigration process through a series of monoprints. The text and broad strokes of black ink emote tension and attention, as the work explores political, economical, environmental and social issues.  Her work is rooted in printmaking, “Printmaking is rooted and has historical roles as the medium for the masses” says Tatana Kellner.
